Lionel Messi was not a happy man with Barcelona's overall performance against Celta de Vigo as unseen TV footage has highlighted his frustration on Sunday.

Barcelona's hopes of capturing the La Liga title are now over as league leaders Atletico Madrid are ahead of them by seven points.

Atletico are currently two points ahead of fierce rivals Real Madrid going into the final La Liga clash of the season.

However, Barcelona were stunned on Sunday as Celta secured a 2-1 victory at the Camp Nou.

Messi opened the scoring in the first half with a header before Santi Mina pulled back an equaliser ahead of half-time.

Clement Lenglet was dismissed late in the second half before Mina slammed home the winner in the 89th minute.

Messi was far from impressed with his side's performance as beIN SPORTS has since uploaded a compilation to show his frustration at the Camp Nou.

One fan posted: "I feel so bad for Leo. He's 33 years old and still carrying this team. Scored 30 goals this season, creates chances, plays almost every game 90 minutes and ultimately all his efforts to be ruined by that s****y backline. Messi deserves better."

While someone else said: "Feel sorry for Messi, completely understand is he wants to leave. He's given everything he has for Barca for almost 20 years. He shouldn't have to carry so much weight at the twilight years of his career."

A third wrote: "I feel for the legend, as a City fan I would welcome him here."

And a fourth added: "Barca needs talented players. Messi is alone. I hope he doesn't leave Barca, but the team needs to bring players with energy and talent, like [Erling] Haaland."

Messi's future at Barcelona remains in doubt as his current deal will expire in the summer.

The 33-year-old Argentine superstar, who has been heavily linked with Manchester City, endured a turbulent period at the club last summer after he wanted to leave Barcelona.

Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman is adamant that he wants Messi to stay at the Spanish club, saying he is "still the best player in the world."

The 58-year-old Dutchman said: "He has shown today it is impossible to play without him.

"He is still the best player in the world. He has already scored 30 goals that have earned this team a lot of points.

"It is a question for Leo to answer. As far as I'm concerned, and the team is concerned, we hope he stays because if we're not going to have Leo we will have serious doubts about who is going to score so many goals."
