And even though he didn't get on the score-sheet, Messi starred in Barcelona's win as he brilliantly created two goals.
The Argentine maestro set up his first goal in the 20th minute after a dazzling run.
He plucked the ball out of the air from the goal kick then dribbled his way into the attacking third before poking the ball to Suarez who finished with a stunning strike.
Messi then provided a goal for Antoine Griezmann in the 45th minute.

The Barcelona captain went on another mazy run before beautifully laying off the Frenchman who found the back of the net with a ridiculous chip.
Speaking after the game, Barcelona manager Quique Setién said: "Messi, Suárez and Griezmann have coordinated extraordinarily well.
"They are high quality players and we were looking for them to get more inside. We did well."
Barcelona now have 73 points on the board, four points behind Real Madrid with just four league games remaining of the 2019/20 season.
