Lionel Messi Named Fourth-Highest Paid Entertainer In The World Behind Taylor Swift But Ahead Of Ed Sheeran

Lionel Messi has been named the fourth highest-paid entertainer in the world, according to Forbes.

Forbes released their list of the top 100 highest-paid celebrities for 2019 with Messi landing at No. 4 overall.

The American business magazine estimated that the Barcelona superstar raked in a staggering $127 million (£101 million) as of July 2019.

Messi's on an eye-watering contract at Barcelona. He signed a new deal last year which sees him earn a basic £50 million per year before tax. He also has an extremely lucrative sponsorship deal with Adidas.

His arch rival Cristiano Ronaldo also cracks the top ten. He's placed in No.6 at $109 million (£87 million) while Neymar is in No.7 at $105 million (£84 million).

Middleweight king Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, who pocketed a cool $94 million (£75 million), rounds off the top ten.

Musician Taylor Swift leads the world's highest-paid celebrities list. She made an insane $185 million (£148 million).

Kylie Jenner, Kanye West, Ed Sheeran, The Eagles and Dr. Phi make up the top ten.
