Lionel Messi's latest masterclass for Barcelona has seen him handed his 100th perfect ten rating from WhoScored.

The football statistics website have been collecting data since the 2009/10 season and during that period, Messi has received a century of 10/10 scores.

Injuries may have disrupted the Argentine's start to the campaign but the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is now in full flow.

Messi became the first La Liga player to be given a ten this season when he destroyed Sevilla and added another one to his collection in the 5-1 humbling of Real Valladolid last night.

Messi bagged a brace, including his 50th career free-kick in the first half, while he also laid on two sublime assists for Luis Suarez and Arturo Vidal.

He also sent opponent Oscar Plano to the shops with the deftest of nutmegs for good measure and was well deserving of his flawless rating.

With No.10 on his back, Messi is obviously synonymous with the iconic number and is also the only player to have been given two 10/10 ratings by L'Equipe.

The French newspaper are renowned for being extremely harsh markers, only dishing out eleven 10/10's since 1988 - but they had no choice but to bestow the highest mark on Messi for his two sensational displays.

The first came in 2010 when Messi single-handedly blitzed Arsenal in the Champions League, scoring four goals and prompting Arsene Wenger to describe him as "a PlayStation player".

Then, just two years later, he came up with an even better individual performance on a Champions League night at the Nou Camp when he smashed FIVE goals past Bayer Leverkusen in a 7-1 annihilation.
