Lionel Messi has £900 Coronavirus-Killing Mattress On His Bed

Lionel Messi is reportedly sleeping on a mattress that is said to be remove traces of COVID-19 in four hours.

Wearing masks in public has been the primary precaution taken as a result of the coronavirus outbreak but Messi has taken extra measures to protect himself and his family - wife Antonella and sons Thiago, Ciro and Mateo.

As per widespread reports in Spain, Messi is using a Tech Moon mattress which is said to completely erase traces of COVID-19 from the bed if someone with COVID-19 sleeps on top of it thanks to a system called 'Viruclean".

The mattress is also used by Messi's Argentina colleague and close friend Sergio Aguero as well as Atletico Madrid Saul Niguez, who is a ambassador for the product.

In terms of the science behind it, it's claimed the mattress has nanoparticles embedded in the tissue material that in turn enables it to remove over 99 percent of bacteria - effectively killing the infection.

Depending on which model Messi is currently using, the 33-year old will also be able to have a foot massage from the bed if he desires for extra comfort and relaxation prior to a game.

The six-time Ballon d'Or winner may well have brought the gadget to Lisbon with him for the mini-Champions League tournament taking place in the Portuguese capital.

After he helped beat Napoli in the round of 16 second leg last Saturday, Messi's Barcelona take on free-scoring Bayern Munich in the one-legged quarter final on Friday evening.
