Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is weighing up a potential move to Inter Milan amid intense transfer speculation from Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, according to reports.

The 33-year-old Argentine forward stunned the world in the summer after he submitted a transfer request and wanted out of Barcelona.

However, Messi remained at the Camp Nou for another season as he refused to take the Spanish club to court over his disputed release clause.

The six-time Ballon d'Or winner was heavily linked with City and PSG in the summer, but Inter have also emerged as one of the clubs that Messi could sign for next summer.

The Barcelona captain will be free to negotiate with clubs outside of the Spanish league when the transfer window opens back up in January.

According to Spanish newspaper Okdiario, Messi is now 'considering' a move to Inter, as well as to City or PSG.

City could be keen to set up a reunion between Messi and former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola.

PSG, meanwhile, have the financial muscle to rival City over a move for the Argentine captain and Neymar has been keen to reunite with his former teammate on the pitch.

Speaking after PSG's 3-1 win over Manchester United earlier this month, Neymar said: "What I want most is to play with [Messi] again, to be able to enjoy being on the pitch with him again.

"He could play in my place. He won't have any problems, I'm sure. I want to play with him again and I'm sure that, next season, we have to do it."

Messi has since admitted that he had a "bad time" over his transfer saga with Barcelona in the summer.

He told La Sexta: "I had a really bad time of things in the summer. It had been building up.

"What happened before the summer, what with how the season ended, the beurofax and all the rest of it. I ended up carrying that over a bit into the start of this season."

The six-time Ballon d'Or winner also added: "I'm feeling good at the moment. I'm raring to really fight for everything that lies ahead.

"I'm excited. I know that the club is having a tough time of things, both on and off the field, and everything related to Barcelona is a bit tricky right now, but I'm feeling hungry."
