Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo's votes have been revealed after Robert Lewandowski beat the pair to win the best FIFA Men's Player award.

The Polish striker claimed the prize for the first time after hitting 55 goals en route to lifting a memorable treble with Bayern Munich last term and scooped the gong courtesy of a combination of votes from fans, journalists, coaches and national team captains.

"If you win such an award and share that title with Messi and Ronaldo, that is unbelievable and it means so much to me," Lewandowski said after being handed the trophy by FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

"A long time ago, I remember I was longing for something like this and now I can win such and award. This really means, regardless of where you come from, all that matters is what you put into it."

Those votes have now been made public and Messi and Ronaldo's selections certainly make for interesting reading.

Interestingly, Ronaldo did vote for Lewandowski as the best player of 2020 but Messi went for his former Barcelona teammate Neymar in the number one position.

Ronaldo put Messi in second and Kylian Mbappe in third, with Messi picking a second PSG star in Mbappe for the second spot before completing his voting form with Lewandowski.

Last year, Ronaldo completely omitted long-time rival Messi from his top three when Messi included the Juventus man.

This time around Messi returned to the favour by leaving the Portuguese superstar out of the equation altogether.

England skipper Harry Kane went for Lewandowski, Kevin De Bruyne and Messi in that order, with his manager Gareth Southgate having the same first-choice but following it up with Premier League presence in the form of Virgil van Dijk and De Bruyne for his remaining two picks.
