It is with regret that we must report tonight that former Celtic and Manchester United midfielder, Liam Miller, has tragically passed away, following a battle with pancreatic cancer, at the age of 36.

News broke last year that the Republic of Ireland midfielder was suffering from the illness and it has been confirmed tonight that Miller has sadly lost is battle.

Tributes have already begun pouring in for the Irishman, who is survived by his wife and son.

Miller represented Ireland 21 times and won a Scottish League Title with Celtic and the Championship with Sunderland. He also enjoyed spells with AGF Aarhus, Leeds United, Queens Park Rangers, Hibernian, Perth Glory and Brisbane Roar.

Our thoughts and condolences are with his family at this time.

Rest In Peace, Liam.
