Leroy Sane's Tweet Sent Out Two Weeks Ago Is A Tad Heartbreaking

He's been omitted from the Germany squad in a decision that has baffled many.

Two weeks ago, Leroy Sane had just completed a stunning campaign with Manchester City, winning two trophies for Pep Guardiola's record-breakers and deservedly scooping the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

In total, he notched 14 goals in all competitions and registered 19 assists - excellent numbers that saw him rightly recognised as an elite-level player, and one who looked set to make his mark on the world stage in Russia.

Sane joined up with his Germany colleagues after celebrating City's unprecedented 100 points-attaining campaigns and played in the recent friendly against Austria.

Yet today, he received the surprising news that he will not be on the plane to Russia and a tweet he sent out a couple of weeks back has been doing the rounds.

The 22-year old posted a picture of him with teammate Julian Draxler about to board a plane, captioning it as 'The adventure starts'. Of course, that adventure and 'Road to the World Cup' unfortunately didn't last long for the former Schalke man.

Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt has got in ahead of Sane, with Joachim Low offering the following explanation:

"That was a very close decision between him and Julian Brandt, which was made in favor of Brandt, Draxler Reus and Müller are set. Leroy has a huge talent.

"He will be back again from September. He had not arrived in international matches yet."

With his electric speed, rapid change of direction and supreme dribbling ability, Sane is an incredible attacking outlet who can decide games on his own.

While he hasn't got going on the world stage as of yet, this could have well and truly been his coming out party and not seeing him in action this summer is a huge disappointment.

Here's hoping it doesn't have a negative effect Sane's confidence going into next season.
