Manchester United legend Roy Keane showed a side to him that not many fans have seen when he was interviewed by two young kids.

The 49-year-old Irishman was widely revered for his hardman mentality and bullish approach on the pitch during his illustrious playing career.

And Keane has continued to pull no punches while he has served as a pundit on Sky Sports for Premier League football.

Sky Sports has now uploaded a 2017 interview with the former Nottingham Forest star during a Republic of Ireland press conference.

Keane, who was assistant manager at the Republic of Ireland from 2013 to 2018, was interviewed by two 'young reporters' and was a man on form.

When one of the kids asked the former United skipper for any advice when they become a professional footballer, Keane hilariously responded: "Advice? Train properly, be on time for training, listen to your coaches and when you get a bit older, keep away from the boys.

"Okay? [Nods his head] Good girl."

Fans shared their thoughts on Keane's interaction with the two kids, with one even comparing him to celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

"Been alive 21 years and that is the first time I have ever seen Roy Keane smile lmao [sic]," one YouTube commenter wrote.

While another said: "Roy is like how Gordon Ramsey is with kids, then when he is with professionals, the man turns into a scary man."

A third posted: "Love the fact even though this is the softest I've ever seen him in an interview, his answers are still very Roy Keane haha [sic]."

And a fourth fan added: "He's great. I used to absolutely despise him back when my team Newcastle United were blowing a 12 point lead back in 1996. But there's no denying the game misses players like Roy Keane. Respect."
