Cristiano Ronaldo And Lionel Messi Thread Reveals Players Who Have Assisted Them The Most

A football fan has produced a Twitter thread to show the players that have provided the most assists for Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Barcelona captain Messi and Juventus superstar Ronaldo are widely regarded as two of the best players in football history.

And the two world-class stars both hold incredible goalscoring records throughout their illustrious playing careers.

Twitter user Altin has now compiled the six players that have assisted Messi the most and the six footballers with the most assists for Ronaldo, too.

When it comes to the 32-year-old Argentine superstar, Luis Suarez has provided him with the most assists with 54.

Andres Iniesta came second (44 assists), Dani Alves was third (43 assists) and Neymar was fourth in the list (36 assists).

Barcelona legend Xavi was fifth with 35 assists and Chelsea winger Pedro followed closely behind with 32 assists.

In returning the favour, Messi has assisted ex-Liverpool striker Suarez 38 times and Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar on 20 occasions.

The six-time Ballon d'Or winner's assists for Barca legends Iniesta and Xavi came in at 11 and eight assists respectively.

Finally, Messi registered 19 assists for Pedro and three assists for ex-Barca right-back Alves.

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema had the most assists for Ronaldo with 47, while Los Blancos winger Gareth Bale came second with 32 assists.

Mesut Ozil followed closely behind Bale with 31 assists, with Angel Di Maria and Marcelo tied with 25 assists each.

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs rounded off the list with 20 assists for ex-Madrid star Ronaldo.

Ronaldo's biggest return came to Benzema, who he assisted on 29 occasions during their partnership at Madrid.

Bale and Marcelo received nine and eight assists respectively from Ronaldo, while the Juve superstar assisted Ozil seven times and Di Maria and Giggs three times.
