It's official. Wesley Sneijder has made his 134th and final appearance for the Netherlands last night, finishing his international career as the most capped player in the country's long and prestigious history. Not bad, ey?
In a 15 year stint with his country, the midfielder bagged 31 goals and 31 assists, as well as reaching a World Cup final among other achievements.

Organisers managed to pull out all the stops after he made an emotional bow in the historic Johan Cruyff Arena, creating a cozy living-room-style setting in the middle of the pitch.
Sneijder's family accompanied the 34-year-old as highlights and goodwill messages played on the TV.

Before that, the midfielder was thrown aloft by teammates and given a standing ovation as the crowd held huge banners in his honour.
It was a special moment for a very special player.
