The 31-year-old - hopefully - still has some time to play at the top. He's been mesmerising spectators, pundits and players alike.

Francisco Conceição, son of Porto boss and former player for the club Sérgio Conceição, is showing some serious style akin to the five-time Ballon d'Or winner in this piece of footage from a Porto under-17 game against Boavista.
In the last clip, the left-footed forward dazzles his way past a helpless Boavista defence and tucks the ball away nicely.
He's even got a young Messi mopped haircut to top it off. Time will tell before this pint-sized Portuguese is running rings around the world's best defenders, but judging by this video, he looks seriously talented.
And he's not the only youngster to resemble an older footballing hero.

Italy under-19 international Sandro Tonali is so similar to Andrea Pirlo that it's actually scary.
Maybe we'll be seeing these two line-up against each other in the Champions League or even World Cup.
