Pep Guardiola Explained Exactly Why Lionel Messi Is A Genius In Amazon Prime Documentary

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola provided incredible insight into why Lionel Messi is "simply one of a kind."
The 48-year-old Spaniard took full advantage of Messi's world-class ability during his time at Barcelona and effectively deployed him as a false nine to link up with Xavi and Andres Iniesta.
During the Amazon Prime documentary This Is Football, Guardiola explained why the 32-year-old Argentine superstar was out of this world on the pitch.
He said: "He's not out of the game. He's involved. Moving his head. Right, left, left, right.
"He smells who is the weak point of the back four.
"After five, ten minutes, he has the map.
"He knows if I move here, here, I will have more space to attack.

"Oh, that's genius! That is quite incredible.
"We are contemporary of that guy. So enjoy it.
"Lionel Messi, just simply one of a kind. He is so good."
The clip from the six-part documentary, which aired in August, has started to make the rounds on social media.

Twitter user Nana kwesi said: "The passion even a coach speaks with about him."
While MorakaIS tweeted: "This just shows how Messi is beyond words, more then [sic] a genius."
Someone else posted: "Stuff i love to see."
Messi admitted last year that he would welcome the idea of a reunion with his former Barcelona manager.

"Although it is difficult, I would like to work with Guardiola again," he said.
"He's one of the best coaches in the world.
"It is important to put faith in the boys in the academy.
"They will see that it is not impossible to make the jump [to the first team].
"We have a great academy and in the future we could play with 11 players from the academy. But it will take time."
Real Sociedad B manager Xabi Alonso made a recent appearance on The Coaches' Voice and explained why it was so difficult to play against the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
