A football fan has created a Twitter thread on Lionel Messi to highlight the incredible records that the Barcelona superstar has set in his illustrious playing career.

The 32-year-old Argentine forward has returned to fine form for Barcelona since he picked up an injury in pre-season.

But Messi has continued to scoop more awards to his stacked career achievements as he captured the European Golden Shoe last season and was named the Best FIFA Men's Player in September.

Now, Twitter user @CfcHilal_ has taken to social media to showcase the different records that the Barcelona superstar has set and fans don't praise enough.

The thread spotlights achievements such as Messi becoming the first player to score 400 La Liga goals and also the only player to win the best player of the tournament award at least once in the international competitions he has competed in.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner grabbed the headlines earlier this week when he scored his 50th career free-kick with a sensational 35-yard strike.

During the clash with Real Valladolid at the Camp Nou on Tuesday, Messi destroyed Oscar Plano with a filthy nutmeg and also produced a world-class assist to set up Arturo Vidal for Barcelona's second.

The Argentina captain's free-kick exploits has even led to a fan-made compilation video that shows all 50 times he has scored from set pieces.
