Man City Boss Pep Guardiola’s All-Time Best XI Has Been Named

Pep Guardiola's all-time best starting XI from his fruitful spells at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City has been revealed.

The 49-year-old Spaniard has enjoyed trophy-laden success at all three clubs and is widely considered one of the best managers in the world right now.

Guardiola has managed an abundance of world-class players during his stints in charge at Barca, Bayern and City.

Now, 90min has decided to whittle down the selection to the 11 players that would make the City boss' all-time XI.

The publication's team, which presumably lines up in a 4-3-3 formation, has Manuel Neuer between the sticks.

According to 90min, the 34-year-old German shot-stopper was "undeniably the best goalkeeper in the world when Guardiola managed Bayern."

Ahead of Neuer is the formidable centre-back pairing of Barcelona legend Carles Puyol and Barca star Gerard Pique.

Manchester City Manager Pep Guardiola’s All-Time Best XI Has Been Named

Dani Alves, who once claimed playing under Guardiola is "better than sex," is out at right-back and Bayern's David Alaba has been named as the left-back.

Pushing into the three-man midfield that consists of Barcelona legends Xavi and Andres Iniesta alongside Sergio Busquets, who was described as the "ultimate sitting midfielder."

90min called Xavi the "master at buying himself time in midfield" and Iniesta a "supremely intelligent player."

Unsurprisingly, Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is in the trident attack force with fellow Argentina international Sergio Aguero.

However, one of the more controversial picks is Raheem Sterling being named ahead of the likes of David Villa, Pedro, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

According to the publication, none of the aforementioned players "benefitted from Guardiola's teachings like Sterling."

90min explained: "Now one of the best players in the Premier League and crucial in the England set-up, Sterling is a supreme goalscorer and is starting to get the respect he's deserved for years."
