Thierry Henry Reveals His Favourite Arsenal Goal

Thierry Henry Reveals His Favourite Arsenal Goal

With 226 goals to choose from, many of which were goal of the month and season contenders, you would imagine it's not that easy for Thierry Henry to choose his favourite strike in Arsenal colours.

However, the Gunners legend has made a rather unexpected choice when naming his favourite goal during his time in North London.

The goal that tops the Frenchman's list didn't come during his initial, trophy laden eight year spell with the Gunners, but rather during his two month loan return in 2012.

Henry made his return to the Emirates Stadium during the second half of the 2011/12 season, making his second debut against Leeds United in an FA Cup tie.

Speaking to The Sun, Henry revealed, "One of my last acts in the FA Cup was special too: my strike against Leeds when I came back to London in 2012 was my favourite goal for Arsenal.

"That one was personal. It won't go down in FA Cup history but it was the first time I scored as a fan.

"You know, I wasn't meant to come back and I came back. I wasn't meant to play, I played. I wasn't meant to score, I scored. It was so emotional. It wasn't about technique or about the score, it was what it meant to me.

"Usually when I scored I didn't show much uncontrolled emotion. I was accused of being cold. Sometimes that was because I was annoyed because I'd missed a chance or because we were losing.

"But that day, we could have been 10-0 down and I would have still celebrated like that! I was a lunatic! I had scored as a fan! Everyone dreams of that."

So there you have it, no memorable solo efforts against Liverpool or Spurs atop the list nor THAT volley against Manchester United in 2000, that mercurial outside of the boot effort against Sparta Prague or the backheel against Charlton or, well, you get the picture - The bloke scored worldies for fun.
