With David Beckham's Miami-based franchise set to make its MLS debut in 2018, the club's coaching staff is starting to take shape.

And Beckham is apparently looking toward a former teammate to lead his new team... and no, it isn't Gary Neville. The former England captain, at least according to Spanish paper AS, has picked Roberto Carlos to be the teams coach.

Beckham played alongside Carlos during his four years at Real Madrid and is reportedly looking to pinch the Brazilian from Indian Super League outfit Delhi Dynamos, where he is currently first-team boss.

Carlos has a slightly varied managerial CV, having taken charge of Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala, Turkey teams Sivasspor and Belediyespor before moving on to Qatar to coach Al-Arabi.

And AS say that Carlos has already spoken with Beckham about the possibility of calling the shots for the Miami franchise, despite Florentino Perez keen to recruit Carlos as a coach for Real Madrid's youth system.
