Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips has been described as a 'perfect fit' for Liverpool and has been valued at a whooping £100m.

The 25-year-old midfielder's stock has soared after his scintillating form for England at this summer's Euro 2020.

Phillips played an instrumental role under England boss Gareth Southgate as he forged a magnificent midfield partnership with Declan Rice.

The England international started every match for the Three Lions at Euro 2020 en route to their eventual defeat to Italy in the final at Wembley.

Phillips is under contract with Leeds until 2024, but the Premier League club will likely fend off fierce competition in their bid to keep him this summer.

Now, Arsenal legend Perry Groves has praised Phillips and claimed the Leeds midfielder "perfectly" fits Liverpool.

Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: "Kalvin Phillips fits Liverpool perfectly.

"The energy they play with, the closing down, his athleticism, his passing range.

"What would he cost? £100million."

Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has admitted that he wants the Red Devils to sign Phillips after his impressive Euro 2020 campaign.

Meanwhile, BBC pundit Danny Murphy has claimed that Phillips' defensive midfield role under Marcelo Bielsa is a "bit of a waste."

Phillips' agent, Kevin Sharp, has confirmed that the England star will remain with Leeds for the new Premier League season.

"There may be clubs who are actually looking at Kalvin now because the more successful you are -- playing for England in big tournaments -- naturally breeds interest," he said.

"But Kalvin is happy at Leeds and has no desire to move whatsoever. It's more a case of 'carry on what you're doing for club and country.'"

Leeds will begin their pre-season campaign against Guiseley on 27th July at Nethermoor Park.

Bielsa's men will also clash with Blackburn Rovers, Fleetwood Town, Real Betis and Ajax ahead of the start of the new Premier League season in August.
