The first batch of FIFA 22 leaks indicate that there will be some interesting new features on this year's game.

EA Sports had hoped to keep things under wraps until the big official reveal at EA Play in July but inevitably leaks have come from the beta version of game.

Twitter user @KingLangpard posted a whole lot of information regarding the new game, including screenshots from the game.

The logo and text is more or less the same but for some colour changes, while it seems there won't be much tweaking when it comes to the menus, team selection panels and overall lay-out.

But a fresh and exciting addition will see players wear "anthem jackets" prior to games - as we see on a regular basis in real life.

Although not a monumental alteration, this brings an extra bit of realism to FIFA 22 and early pre-match images featuring Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund players look incredibly slick.

As confirmed by KingLangpard, heat maps have been updated and overhauled on the game, while EA have decided to incorporate expected goals (XG) into proceedings going forward.

Those who have a fascination for data and stats in football will absolutely all over this one.

In gameplay news, KingLangpard says player switching has been tweaked, directional nutmegs are no more - and he also believes that crossing and heading could well be overpowered.

It's worth noting that the beta version is not final and remains a work in progress. FIFA 22 is likely slated for an official release at the end of September or early October, though there is no exact date just yet.

What do you hope to see in FIFA 22?
