Lad's Tweet About Getting Released After Getting Skinned By Ben Chilwell In 2013 Goes Viral

A lad has gone viral on social media after he poked fun at he and England defender Ben Chilwell having polar opposite stints in the game after facing one another in December 2013.
Reece Lucas was once at Rotherham and played right-back against Chilwell when he was the left-back for Leicester City's youth team.
The Foxes won 3-0 in the FA Youth Cup tie at a rainy King Power Stadium and Lucas was sent to the shops by Chilwell for the second goal.
No longer playing football and now working 6am till 2pm shifts as a mechanical engineer just over seven years later, he quote-tweeted a tweet from the Rotherham Twitter account, writing: "Cheers @BenChilwell got released after this up at 5:30 for work tomorrow... how you getting on?"
The post, which stemmed from some group chat banter with Reece and his mates, garnered over 36,000 likes.
Chelsea and England left-back Chilwell even replied, pondering whether he owed Reece a pint in the near future.
We got in touch with the former defender to get the low-down on how his career went in a completely different direction.
"I don't massively remember much from the game as it was seven years ago now but I know it was a tough game and few of my mates have hammered me for this for a while!" he told SPORTbible.
"Can't really say I knew I was playing against 'Ben Chilwell' at the time as it was just another name on the team sheet. It was only a few years later I realised I played against him and look back now... no shame in being 'skinned' by an England international who's worth £50 million, right? Haha!
"Ben Chilwell didn't quite end my career, however it probably didn't help! At the time I believe I had a two-year scholarship and a one-year professional contract. The tweet was just banter between my mates and overnight it just blew up!
Getting released and not being able to realise a dream of professional footballer is the worst nightmare for many but Reece doesn't have any regrets.
"It didn't really affect me much, in fact I was happy it ended as the manager at the time was never interested in me and I knew for most of my contract it wouldn't be extended. And at the time I wasn't really enjoying my football.
"I went down the leagues after this with plenty of injuries and fell out of love with the game but being honest I never worked hard enough so can only blame myself. Now I'm a mechanical engineer and love my job even if it doesn't quite pay as well as Ben Chilwell's job!"
"The banter I have with my mates is my claim to fame is being on FIFA. I guess now it's being 'skinned' by Ben Chilwell! I didn't expect the tweet to blow up at all."
We hope Reece does get that pint off Chilwell. Actually, make it three or four.
