LAD Tells Fiancee He Wants To Name Future Child After Football Manager Regen
Wanting to name your future child after a famous footballer isn't too uncommon these days, but how about a made-up player that doesn't even exist?
Well, that's the plan for Sam Douglas, who has told his fiancee Lucy that he wishes to name their future child after a Football Manager regen that played for him.

In a nutshell, regens are made up players not included in the researched database of the game. The game uses these regenerated players, who typically start off as youth players, to replace actual footballers who have called time on their careers.
Sam, who was the bassist for alternative rock band Mallory Knox, developed a strong bond with 'Elkan' - one of the regens who served him well in his many hours playing FM20.
And the best thing about it all, is that his partner of five years also likes the name so he might actually get his way.

"The name was Elkan! To be honest he kept going on about his anger being 20 out of 20 and the fact his name sounded like an Avenger," Lucy told SPORTbible.
"To be fair I quite like it. We named our dog Dion after Dion Dublin so why not carry a trend!"
Hull City fan Lucy says her other half definitely falls into the 'Football Manager addict' category and his performance on the game regularly affects his mood.
"He's literally obsessed, it's his life, he plays it constantly," she added.
"You can tell if he's winning from the mood he's in. He's a Cambridge United fan and lost in the League One play off final twice in a row and he was in the worst mood.
"His greatest achievement was winning the treble with Cambridge. I'm a Hull City fan and he likes to mention when he's playing them, I always say I hope he loses which he's never happy about!"
Sam will have seen Elkan grow from a young age into the finished article so maybe it's fitting that he names his first child after him?
That being said, nobody wants a kid with 20 out of 20 anger...
