League officials have revealed a detailed scheme to ensure players and staff are safe amid the global pandemic.

COVID-19 tests will be administered to players and officials 24 hours before their game.

Social distancing measures will be in operation as opposing players will not line up in the tunnel next to each other and there will be no pre-match handshakes, just like the Bundesliga which restarted last weekend. However, goal celebrations are likely to be sanctioned.

A colour coded system will be in place at stadiums. Each ground will be split into three zones: green, blue and red (outside the stadium).

94 people will be permitted in the green zone which will include all players, coaching and medical staff as well as police, stewards and matchday personnel.

The blue zone will consist of 103 people including club officials and TV crew.

Players and officials will enter the ground at different entrances and their arrival times will be staggered. And, of course, everyone will have to wear masks and gloves on entry.

Clubs have 11 fixtures remaining in the 2019/20 season with Barcelona leading the way at the top of the table, two points ahead of Real Madrid.
