Kyle Walker's unusual socks have garnered plenty of reaction this season.
The Manchester City right-back, a £50 million summer signing from Tottenham, has regularly caused confusion by wearing socks with several circular cuts in.
However, it's not merely a superstition to go along with Walker' Triple H-esque water-spraying antics (match-going City fans will know what I mean) - it turns out there's actually a pretty good reason for him doing so.
As per The Mirror, it seems as a kitman, or even Walker himself, has made the incisions on the back of his socks in an attempt to relieve tension and prevent pain in his lower leg muscles.
These days, the combination of tight socks and bulging calf muscles run the risk of injury - and cutting holes is the common solution many players are choosing to help prevent it.
Arthur Masuaku of West Ham has been doing it on occasion, while over in Spain, Valencia defender Ezequiel Garay was actually told to get new socks by the referee in the game.
