Jurgen Klopp could face action from the FA after his explosive celebration directly in the face of the assistant referee's face.

Liverpool bounced back from their first Premier League defeat of the season by beating Bournemouth 2-1 at Anfield on Saturday.

The Reds came from behind to secure all three points as Klopp let his emotions get the better of him when Mohamed Salah leveled.

He wildly celebrated Salah's goal as the German boss punched the air while shouting in the direction of the match official.

The FA may now open an investigation into the incident. It comes just a week after Carlo Ancelotti was slapped with a £8,000 fine for confronting Chris Kavanagh following Everton's 1-1 draw against Manchester United last Sunday.

Speaking after Liverpool's 2-1 victory over Bournemouth, Klopp admitted he was wrong to celebrate in the face of the assistant referee.

"The first goal was, from my point of view, 100 per cent a foul, nothing else. The ref doesn't see it," he said.

"I did it. Now I wouldn't do it. But how is that possible that someone looks at it and doesn't do anything about it.

"VAR hides behind the phrase, not clear and obvious. It makes no sense.

"We wanted to fight back before the game so then we had to fight, really back and put them under pressure."

Meanwhile, Liverpool's 27th league victory of the 2019/20 campaign moves them to 82 points, 25 points ahead of nearest rivals Manchester City.
