Kevin De Bruyne didn't record an assist but his through ball in the build-up to Manchester City's second goal against Leicester may be the pass of the season.

De Bruyne played a perfectly weighted through ball to Gabriel Jesus who eventually found the back of the net in their 2-0 win on Saturday.

The Belgium maestro picked up the ball in the middle of the pitch and took a couple of touches to compose himself before serving up a delicious pass to his teammate.

With his trusted right peg, he pierced a sublime ball that brilliantly split Leicester's defence - beating two sprawling defenders.

Jesus squared the ball to Raheem Sterling who played it back with the Brazilian forward stabbing home from close range.

But it was all about De Bruyne's pass on social media.

One Twitter user wrote: "That Kdb pass though."

A second tweeted: "De bruyne is the best midfielder in Premier League."

A third added: "Doesn't get an assist, but sometimes it's better to watch his brilliance and forget the stats."

Pep Guardiola's reaction to De Bruyne's pass says it all: "Quite good, huh?!"

De Bruyne's excellence means City are now 17 points ahead of nearest rivals Manchester United.

Guardiola will be hoping his star man turns up when they take on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League next week.
