Kevin De Bruyne showed just why many believe he's the best player in the Premier League with a scintillating performance in Manchester City's 3-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates.

The Belgian bagged a brace and laid on an assist as he completely ran the show against Freddie Ljungberg's side.

It took him just 89 seconds to make his mark on the game when he smashed one into the top corner at the far post on the half volley after Gabriel Jesus put it on plate.

The former Chelsea man then turned provider in the 15th minute when he powered through on the counter attack band set up Raheem Sterling, before continuing his irresistible first-half display with a gorgeous left-footed strike.

He would have had a first ever Premier League hat-trick had it not been for Bernd Leno's stunning stop to tip his curling effort onto the post.

The former Chelsea man also won every one of his tackles in the first half, putting City on the front foot straight away by relentlessly pressing and recovering the ball - and completed all of his take-ons as he easily bypassed his opponents with his power, skill and balance.

De Bruyne moved to double figures in assists for the season with 10 so far and social media waxed lyrical about his heroics:

Name a better, more complete midfielder in world football? We'll wait.
