Before leaving Barcelona for Juventus, Dani Alves made one final promise to the board, and it's pretty safe to say his words have come good.

The Brazilian full-back has starred for Juve who have progressed to the Champions League final opposite Real Madrid.

The Italian outfit booked their spot in the Cardiff showpiece by beating AS Monaco in a two-legged affair. But that preceded dumping out his former side Barcelona in the quarter-finals.

Barcelona have struggled to fill the void left by Alves as they've only bagged the Copa del Rey which saw Luis Enrique leave his position as head coach.

And the 34-year-old felt massively disrespected by the clubs decision to ditch him in the summer.

"Was I disrespected by the board of directors before I left the club last summer? Absolutely," he said via The Guardian. "That is simply how I feel and you can never tell me any different."

Though Alves confesses that he still has the club in his heart following an illustrious spell which saw him win a host of major silverware. From La Liga to Champions League titles.

"But you cannot play for a club for eight years and achieve everything that we did and not have that club in your heart for ever. Managers, players and board members come and go but Barça will never go away."

While making a promise by vowing the club would miss his services.

"Before I went to Juventus, I made a final promise to the board at Barcelona. I said: 'You're going to miss me.' I didn't mean as a player. Barça have plenty of incredible players. What I meant was they were going to miss my spirit. They were going to miss the care I had for the dressing room. They were going to miss the blood I spilled every time I put on the shirt."

Sergi Roberto and Aleix Vidal (hampered through injury) have failed to impress at right-back making the decision to let Alves go even more dumbfounding.

Juventus have the chance to complete an incredible treble on Saturday night after clinching the league and cup double.
