Juventus player Stefano Sturaro has issued an apology after insulting a 12-year old Napoli fan on social media.

Football players regularly receive all sorts of criticism and abuse on social media platforms and when the three-time Serie A winner got some stick of a young Napoli fan on Instagram, he reacted angrily -in the same way an angry American teenager having a meltdown when you killed him on Call of Duty.

As quoted by Football Italia, he said words to the effect of:

"Sorry, Gomorra. Sit down or I'll embarrass you to such a degree that you'll cry for three days. Go play with your Pokemon and stop bothering me, you retard.

"Go cry to your mother, you damn child. Actually, I am at home with your mother."

The Italian international was obviously well out of order and has now took to Instagram to apologise for his actions.

Translated, his post reads:

"Often we players are insulted via social networks. We ought to ignore them, but at times the instinct prevails. I apologise to anyone who felt affected by this."
