Jose Mourinho has commented on the treatment Marouane Fellaini received in today's 1-0 win over Spurs at White Hart Lane.

The Belgian midfielder gave away a penalty against former club Everton last week and was booed by some sections of United fans at Old Trafford when he warmed up on the touchline and then when he entered the fray in the last few minutes.

As expected, Jose Mourinho was asked about Fellaini after the win and gave his thoughts on the booing Fellaini received.

He accepted that some United fan are still frustrated over the mistake that cost United a win at Goodison Park, but maintained that he will always protect his players.

He said:

"I accept it because from the fans you have to accept everything and especially fans that are giving so much without getting so much.

"The only things they are getting are honesty, professionalism dedication but not the results they expect.

"They have in their mind the mistake that Marouane did at Everton and no more than that.

"He is a player and a person I like and the person is more important. He will always have my protection."

Do you think some United fans were out of order for booing Fellaini or was it justified? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
