Jon Moss Was James Milner's PE Teacher, He Sent Him Off At Anfield

A quite incredible story...

In what is our new favourite football story, James Milner was sent off at Anfield by his former PE teacher and coach on Saturday.

The former England international received two yellow cards for two late challenges on Wilfried Zaha in the thrilling 4-3 win over Crystal Palace and he was straight down the tunnel as soon as the red card was brandished.

But there was much more to the dismissal because Jon Moss, the man who had no choice but to give him his marching orders, taught Milner PE and even coached the school football team the Leeds United youth product captained back in the day.

Moss taught at Westbrook Primary school in Horsforth, where Milner attended as a youngster.

Check out the following squad photo, where Moss is at the back on the left and Milner, clearly the golden boy of the side, is front and centre.

A teacher sending off his former pupil has to be a first in the Premier League and has the makings of a solid pub quiz question.

Even at 33 years of age, Milner wasn't too big for being sent to the naughty corner...
