Jerome Boateng personally called Jose Mourinho to tell him he won't be joining Manchester United.
As you know, United were hellbent on recruiting new talent on transfer deadline day ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
Mourinho really, really wanted a central defender before the window slammed shut with a bunch of names linked with a transfer to Old Trafford.
From Harry Maguire to Toby Alderweireld not to mention the Bayern Munich defender.
Boateng wasn't just attracting interest from United but also Paris Saint-Germain who reportedly held talks with the 30-year-old.
Ultimately, he remained in Germany despite speculation in the summer.
"I had enquiries from PSG and Manchester United," Boateng told Bild via Metro.
"I did not want just to get away from Bayern, but I was thrilled to try a new challenge. I feel well at Bayern. It's one of the biggest clubs in the world."
