Jeff Stelling had a brilliant reaction to Newcastle's last-gasp equaliser against Liverpool at Anfield today.

Arsenal loanee Joe Willock came off the bench to score for the Magpies yet again, this time with the last kick off the game to cancel out Mo Salah's brilliant opener and salvage a point in Saturday's early kick-off.

Willock's deflected strike sparked euphoric scenes in the 95th minute, the leveller made even sweeter by the fact Callum Wilson had a stoppage time goal controversially ruled out by VAR minutes prior.

And while we missed the roar of the away end when the ball hit the back of the net, Soccer Saturday viewers were treated to an incredible noise from host Stelling as he crossed to Sue Smith for reporting on the huge goal for Steve Bruce's men.

It was quite the 'goal-gasm' from Stelling, who evoked memories of Gary Neville's classic commentary for Fernando Torres' goal against Barcelona at the Nou Camp nine years ago today.

In recent weeks Willock had come off the bench to score the winner against West Ham and an equaliser against Spurs before following it up with more late heroics against the champions this afternoon.

But the midfielder is not a fan of the "super sub" tag he's been given as a result of his game-changing contributions.

Speaking to BT Sport post-match, Willock said: "I don't want to be labelled a super sub but I'm happy I helped the team to a vital point that keeps us up in this league.

"Through these last weeks we've been growing in confidence, so much spirit and today shows how far we have come as a team.

"When you are come here and you are losing 1-0 for 89/90 minutes, it shows how far we've come that we got a point out of it.

"You can't really celebrate right now with VAR but I had a feeling it was a goal. Things are going for me at the moment and I'm happy I can help the team."
