Javier Hernandez Shows Off His Gruesome Hand Injury After Fall At Home

Looks nasty!

Javier Hernandez has been showing off the brutal hand injury that kept him out of Bayer Leverkusen's Bundesliga opener at the weekend and it's not for the faint-hearted.

The former Manchester United striker has cemented his place as one of Germany's most feared goal scorers after joining Bayer last summer and scoring 30 goals in all competitions.

But he missed yesterday's opening day 2-1 defeat away to rivals Borussia Mönchengladbach after falling down the stairs at home and breaking his right hand.

The 28-year-old was left with injuries so severe that he was forced to undergo surgery on Friday, and took to Instagram to thank his followers and well-wishers following the painful-looking accident and revealed a sizeable wound:

It remains unclear exactly how long Hernandez will be sidelined for but the Mexican suggests he could be back in Levekusen's balck and red kit within two weeks.

His return will be handy for Roger Schmidt's squad (I'm so sorry).
