In the least surprising news since Jose Mourinho started playing dull football at Old Trafford, Jack Wilshere is injured and will miss England's game against the Netherlands on Friday.

A quick look behind the curtain at SPORTbible towers, well first of all we never call it towers and secondly it definitely isn't a tower but that's besides the point, occasionally we prewrite articles when we know something is going to happen and then just edit said piece for when it does happen.

Check out the England squad that could go to the 2020 Euros:

Yet somehow we managed to not be prepared for the most inevitable thing to ever happen so here I am freshly writing an article that Jack Wilshere will miss England's friendly against Netherlands/Italy (DELETE AS APPROPRIATE BEFORE PUBLISHING) with injury...that's a joke guys.

But yes the Arsenal midfielder, perennially injured Englishman will once again manage to miss a match because of injury and it was due to be his first appearance for the national side since his role in Roy Hodgson's side's embarrassing loss to Iceland in Euro 2016.

The Daily Mail report that the 26 year old got injured during today's training session and didn't travel to the continent with his teammates.

England are expected to play a midfield three in the World Cup and against Netherlands on Friday and Italy next week places are definitely up for grabs with some many questions about so many of the players.

Gareth Southgate refused the chance earlier in the season to call Wilshere up because of his lack of playing time but the former Bournemouth loanee has played his way back into the plans for Russia.

It's a big blow for his hopes of going to the World Cup but he could still make it.
