It Turns Out Gianluigi Buffon Is An Avid West Ham Fan

Following West Ham's victory over Domzale last night at their new ground, they now welcome Juventus on Sunday for an official unveiling.

After kicking off their tenure at the Olympic Stadium in style they now set their sights on the Serie A giants, where they'll compete against a big fan.

Legendary Italian stopper Gianluigi Buffon has confessed he's an avid West Ham supporter, and even went as far as saying they are one of five teams he would love to played for.

Just why is he such an admirer for the East London side, well, via his book he explains how their support is special. When talking about some of his favouirte teams, he claimed;

"West Ham: Because of the supporters: I knew the West Ham supporters during my time as a supporter (Ultra)"

"Those guys (West Ham supporters) follow the Hammers with an extraordinary energy. And because of the logo (club crest): Two crossed hammers. Almost communist, if I think about it."

The 38-year-old will be able to sample the ultra-like fan base on Sunday as 'The Hammers' host Juve. Buffon is adored by football fans, and with comments like these, I'm sure West Ham faithfuls feel the same.
