Inter Milan have made Arsenal a huge demand for mega-paid midfielder Mesut Ozil - which could free-up a move for one of Inter's top players.

According to the Daily Star, the Italian side are interested in the out-of-favour German playmaker, but his £350,000 a week wages are stalling negotiations.

Now Inter have reportedly demanded Arsenal pay half of Ozil's massive weekly wage, should they want to off-load him.Arsenal are in need of investment, but their restricted wage bill - following the star's new deal last year - has made it difficult for boss Unai Emery to bring any quality players in.

Ozil has only started 13 games in all competitions this season and now Gunners' fans are growing increasingly frustrated at the midfielder's apparent lack of effort to push into the first team on a regular basis.

If Arsenal and Inter manage to arrange a deal for the former Germany international, a clear path for Croatia World Cup hero Ivan Perisic to join the London club could be made easier.

The Inter midfielder has been linked to the Gunners and could move on an initial loan deal, with the option to buy for £35 million at the end of the season.

However, the Serie A side are only interested in a permanent deal. There are reports that Arsenal don't have the funds for such a move in this window.

Some Arsenal fans would embrace an outright swap deal:

Another fan feeling pessimistic - he is an Arsenal fan, after all.
