Idrissa Gueye Sent Off For Horrendous Challenge On Ilkay Gundogan
Idrissa Gueye was shown a straight red card for a horrendous tackle on Ilkay Gundogan in tonight's Champions League semi-final first leg.
In the second half, after Manchester City turned the game on its head to lead 2-1 at the Parc Des Princes, the PSG midfielder produced a wild and late challenge when the ball had already been popped off.
Gundogan immediately screamed in grimace and held his foot. The tackle from Gueye was so bad that referee Felix Brych didn't even need to refer to VAR and sent him off fairly quickly.
It was the third time this season that PSG have had a player sent off. Fortunately Gundogan was able to continue after receiving treatment.
Gueye, meanwhile, will be suspended for the second leg at the Etihad Stadium next week.
PSG went 1-0 up through a Marquinhos header but City delivered an excellent second half display and goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez mean they have the lead at the halfway point in the tie.
