Zlatan Ibrahimovic is 'open' to completing a stunning transfer to Everton if Carlo Ancelotti is appointed as manager at Goodison Park.

Everton are on the verge of sealing Ancelotti as their new manager and his appointment could pave the way for a mega transfer in the shape of the Swedish superstar.

Ibrahimovic could be tempted to join Everton if they name Ancelotti as their new boss. He's believed to be 'open' to the idea of a sensational reunion with the veteran Italian on Merseyside according to the Telegraph.

The pair enjoyed success together while at Paris Saint-Germain, winning the Ligue 1 title in 2013.

Ibrahimovic, 38, is a free agent after leaving LA Galaxy at the end of November. A host of clubs have expressed an interest in signing him including Napoli and AC Milan. He has also been linked with a return to Manchester United.

Everton are now leading the chase to sign the ex-Juventus striker. The Premier League club are reportedly prepared to offer him £3.4 million per season to secure his services.

The Blues, who're currently 16th in the table, have the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Cenk Tosun and Moise Kean at their disposal.

Ancelotti, meanwhile, will be in the stands when Everton host Arsenal on Saturday with Duncan Ferguson continuing as caretaker boss.
