How Sir Alex Ferguson Reacted To Liverpool Winning The Premier League
Sir Alex Ferguson sent a classy message after Liverpool won their first league title for 30 years on Thursday.
And Ferguson, who won 13 Premier League titles and famously knocked Liverpool off their perch, sent an immediate message of congratulations.
Sir Kenny Dalglish revealed his fellow Scotsman was quick to send a text to commend their achievement after a long, long wait.
"He has contacted us to say congratulations by the modern medium," Dalglish said, as per Metro.
"You go through the older generation, Fergie at Man United, Brian Kidd, Mike Summerbee, all the old foes who went through football at the same time and at the end of the year you sent a letter of congratulations.
"That continues. It is a great compliment. You are in competition and you are rivals but to have the intelligence so you are magnanimous enough to send in a letter saying congratulations.

"These days it has gone more technical, you get your texts or emails off the people who you have been competing with all your life.
"They wish it was themselves who won it but they are proud to pay homage to other people."
Liverpool have now overtaken United as England's most successful club, with the trophy tallies now 43 to 42 in favour of the Anfield outfit.
Along with their league title successes, Liverpool have won seven FA Cups, eight League Cups, six European Cups and three 'other' European trophies.
But United's Indonesian twitter account was quick to remind everyone that they still lead the way when it comes to league titles.
They posted pictures of Fred and Eric Bailly in training and while it seems pretty standard at first. But when you add the squad numbers of seventeen and three together you get twenty - which is of course the number of leagues the Old Trafford club have lifted.
Predictably, the tweet blew up on social media and has garnered a whole lot of likes and retweets.
