Liverpool have bagged themselves a brilliant signing for next season in Naby Keita, but they could even save a fair bit of cash in the RB Leipzig man's transfer following the German club's poor form this season.
Keita, who will take on the coveted No.8 shirt at Anfield when he joins up with the Reds' in July, is having another impressive individual campaign - scoring nine and registering seven assists in all competitions.
However, Leipzig have been unable to maintain their performance levels of last season when they finished as surprise runners up to Bayern Munich.
They are currently in sixth place, on course to qualify for the Europa League next term. However, Liverpool are on course to profit from Leipzig's failings.
The Champions League semi-finalists agreed a basic £48 million fee for 23-year old Keita, with bonuses on top of it.
According to Paul Joyce from The Times, if Leipzig do reach next season's Europa League as expected, Liverpool will be entitled to pay a further £4.75 million - taking the total cost to £52.75 million.
Qualification for the Champions League for a second successive year, which will be a tougher task as the Red Bull-backed club are four points off Bayer Leverkusen in fourth- will see the price climb to £59 million as a further payment of £6.25 million would due.
Yet after losing 5-2 to Hoffenheim in a thoroughly disappointing result last weekend, they are in danger of missing out on Europe all together - Eintracht Frankfurt are just one point behind in seventh with three games to play.
If that does happen and Leipzig finish seventh or below, Liverpool will save a tidy sum of £11 million and pay no more than Keita's release clause.

At £48 million, the Guinea international could potentially turn out to be a very astute acquisition for the club.
