Ernesto Valverde was asked if the case was closed regarding Ousmane Dembele'e Barcelona future following his performance, last night.

Dembele's attracted plenty of interest this season but mostly bad. From a reported video game addiction to turning up late to training.

But, on Tuesday, Valverde selected Dembele who delivered the goods by scoring a superb solo goal to give Barcelona an early lead versus Spurs.

And following the European fixture, Valverde was asked about the 22-year-old.

"He has made a great goal, possible for players with his talent," he said.

"We are happy with him and we said that throughout the season things happen that we try to solve internally.

"We hope that he and the rest will continue to give us much joys."

Is the case closed?

"I do not know [if the case is closed], tomorrow we have training," the Barcelona boss hilariously added.

Dembele cost Barcelona a whopping £94 million and he hasn't quite lived up to his expectation.

So much so, he's been subject to intense transfer speculation with Arsenal, among other clubs, reportedly keeping tabs on his situation ahead of tabling an official bid.

Though it appears Barcelona are reluctant to sell the budding superstar.

Well, Lionel Messi doesn't want him to leave the Camp Nou.

"He's very good," the Barcelona skipper said about Dembele after his sides 4-0 La Liga victory over Espanyol.

"He wants to play, he had a good game, scored a goal and was important.

"We need him," he added.

Assuring words from the captain.
