Cristiano Ronaldo is tipped to win his fourth Ballon d'Or award tonight but the Real Madrid star won't be present at the ceremony to pick up the prestigious gong.

The Spanish giants are fresh off beating Deportivo La Coruna 3-2, thanks to a another late important goal from Sergio Ramos, maintaining their six point gap at the top of the La Liga as they now head to Asia for the Club World Cup.

Ronaldo and Co are off to Japan to compete in the tournament following their Champions League triumph last season though it's expected the European Championship winner will appear in front of the esteemed dignitaries and rivals via video link.

Because why else would the 31-year-old dye his hair gold! After his incredible exploits for both club and country from lifting the Champions League to the Euro Championships, needless to say, Ronaldo has had a great year.

Not to mention bagging 50 goals in a calendar year for the seventh time in a row. Meanwhile, the Los Blancos face Club America on Thursday from the International Stadium Yokohama
