Cesc Fàbregas has put his full support behind Eden Hazard after suggesting that he could win the Ballon d'Or should he move to Real Madrid.

The 28-year-old Belgian ace scored a second-half brace in Chelsea's 4-1 thrashing of Arsenal in the Europa League final, but he revealed after the match that he would most likely be leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Now, Hazard's former Blues teammate believes that the Belgium international could challenge for France Football's coveted prize in his post-Chelsea career.

"Unfortunately, I don't think Chelsea at this moment can give him what he deserves," Fàbregas said on BT Sport.

"In terms of potentially winning absolutely everything, and even talking about the Ballon d'Or... I know he says he doesn't mind about it, but deep down he does. He really wants to win the Champions League.

"I think that there is currently a ceiling at Chelsea and he can go so much higher than this ceiling at a club like Real Madrid because these clubs -- Real Madrid, Barcelona, now Manchester City, Bayern Munich -- always come back.

"They will have terrible seasons at Real Madrid, but they will be back. No doubt about it."

It has been reported that Los Blancos are planning to announce the signing of Hazard on Monday.

Meanwhile, Maurizio Sarri said that he would accept the Chelsea ace's decision to leave the club in the summer.

"I know he wants to leave and I have to respect his decision," he told BT Sport.

"He is a wonderful player. It took two or three months for me to understand him as a man and now I do, he's a wonderful man.

"He's an extraordinary player. He is a strange boy, but when he understands it is extraordinary."

Hazard has spent seven seasons at Chelsea after signing from Lille for £32m in 2012.

He has made over 200 appearances for the club and won multiple trophies during his time at Stamford Bridge, which includes two Premier Leagues and two Europa Leagues.
