Harry Maguire's younger brother has received permission from Chesterfield to fly out to Russia for the World Cup quarter final clash with Sweden on Saturday.

21-year old Laurence was due to play in a pre-season friendly against Sheffield FC on the same day but manager Martin Allen has allowed him to miss the game in order to see his elder sibling take to the pitch in Samara.

The only condition is that he's back in time for training on Monday, but that's not so bad at all.

Veteran boss Allen provided a hilarious blog post to reveal Maguire's absence for the upcoming friendly - and how the club fully supports him being with his brother for the next step in England's quest to bring football home.

"Laurence Maguire has unfortunately picked up Russian 'flu, which is obviously quite disappointing," he writes.

"I've had a word with him this morning and told him that this afternoon he's got to fly out to Russia to have some medical tests. He's got to be back here for training on Monday.

"The bad news is the fact that he's got Russian 'flu. The good news is that he's going to fly to Russia to see his brother play for England in the quarter-finals of the World Cup."

Two years ago, the Maguires went to the European Championships in France with their mates. Fast forward to the present day and Laurence will be seeing the Leicester City defender at the heart of the England backline in what is the biggest game of the career.

The 25-year old has been superb so far, long may that continue on Saturday.
