The English centre-back impressed during his arrival at Old Trafford by forming an effective partnership with Victor Lindelof before taking the captain's armband from Ashley Young, who moved to Inter Milan in January.

United are currently ninth and are five points behind Premier League leaders Tottenham, though the Red Devils have a match in hand.
