Tottenham got off to the best possible start at Anfield this afternoon, taking the lead in less than a minute through talisman Harry Kane.

Spurs immediately started on the front foot against the league leaders and got Heung-Min Son one-vs-one against Trent Alexander-Arnold down the left flank.

Son's curling strike deflected onto the post off Dejan Lovren but when the ball rebounded it was Kane who reacted quickest, nodding his sixth Premier League goal of the season past Alisson in front of the Kop.

At first glance there were questions as to whether Kane had strayed offside when the effort was struck but replays showed that the England skipper was quite clearly on.

In scoring the goal Kane, who has now scored three Premier League goals inside a minute, has moved up to joint-third in Spurs' all-time goalscoring charts. He is now level with Martin Chivers on 174 for the club.

Prior to the game, Kane had made a point of stressing that Virgil van Dijk and Liverpool were "not invincible" and it took less than a minute for him to highlight it against Jurgen Klopp's side.

While van Dijk switched off for the opener, Kane pounced and notched his fourth goal at Anfield.

Liverpool levelled matters in the second half when Jordan Henderson nipped in at the far post, before Mo Salah completed the turnaround with an emphatic penalty late on after Serge Aurier clumsily fouled Sadio Mane.
