Portugal left-back Raphaël Guerreiro was in the wars in the first half of the Group B clash with Morocco, though you might not have noticed it straight away.

The Borussia Dortmund defender was up against Watford winger Nordin Amrabat and had a tough task dealing with the tricky 31-year old, regularly been given the runaround.

On one occasion, he brought down the former Galatasaray man just outside the box as the two tussled for the ball - with the referee waving away the protests.

It looked as though Guerreiro was the one doing most of the fouling, as he pulled on Amrabat's shorts. But immediately after the incident the cameras panned to the 24-year old and he showed off some pretty grim scars on his lower abdomen:

You'd have thought he had been marking Luis Suarez given the state of the marks on his body!

Amrabat may have suffered a concussion in Morocco's opening game against Iran but he had Guerreiro on toast in that first half, leading to the former Sporting man getting a fair bit of criticism on Twitter:
