Genoa frontman and son of Diego Simeone, Giovanni, has claimed that his father will eventually manage Serie A side Inter Milan.

The 21-year-old rose to prominence after bagging a brace against Juventus and has now suggested his father will return to the San Siro.

The hard-nosed midfielder enjoyed two seasons with Inter racking up 88 appearances not to mention helping his side win the UEFA Cup in the 97/98 campaign.

Following his managerial exploits for Atletico Madrid including the incredible La Liga triumph as well as two Champions League finals, Simeone's rightfully been showered with praise and is respected as one of the best coaches in football.

And after cutting short his contract at the Vicente Calderon, his future has been subject to intense speculation linking him with a number of posts.

But according to his son, Simeone will end up at Inter, well, one day. Speaking to Onda Cero via Goal; "He will sign for Inter Milan at some point. I hope that (happens)."

Despite being "very happy", Giovanni believes he'll grace the dug-out of the fallen European giants; "He is very happy in the Atlético de Madrid, I see it as well. But Inter may occur in the future."

The 46-year-old's deal with Atleti expires in June 2018. Will his son's words come to fruition?
