There was a incredible moment in League Two today as Grimsby town striker Stefan Payne was sent off for headbutting his own teammate.

The Lincolnshire outfit were trailing 1-0 away to Bradford City and just minutes after conceding, Payne lost it with colleague Filipe Morais.

In footage that emerged online, the 29-year-old was seen raising his head towards the Portuguese man after a disagreement got heated.

The referee followed Payne into the tunnel and brandished the red card, with the former Fulham man sat in the stands for the second half at Valley Parade.

There was a great bit of irony in the incident given Grimsby's tweet about "fighting together" prior to the game.

Morais, meanwhile, was substituted at half-time along with two other teammates Grimsby looked to get back in the game.
